The excellence of Nikka’s Coffey distillates has been widely recognized through our Coffey Grain and Coffey Malt whiskies.
In 2017, a new gin and vodka joined Nikka’s Coffey range to further show the uniqueness and beauty of this traditional type of column still - the Coffey Still. These expressions are the integration of Nikka’s Coffey Stills, expertise in distilling gin and vodka since the 1960s and blending skills inherited from the founder.
Coffey Gin’s complexity is achieved through the perfect balance between 11 selected botanicals and the silky texture of Coffey distillates. The bright and zesty aroma originating from four kinds of Japanese citruses, Yuzu, Kabosu, Amanatsu and Shequasar, compliments the traditional gin botanicals of juniper berries, angelica, coriander seeds, lemon and orange peels.
There is also a touch of apples, a fruit deeply related to the history of Nikka, followed by pleasantly tangy hints of green Japanese Sansho pepper on the finish.

A journey through the four seasons with six Japanese botanicals.
In Japanese, Roku translates as the number six. Inside every bottle of Roku Gin, you will find six very special botanicals that are sourced in Japan. These represent Suntory’s commitment to only use the best ingredients harvested from the best growing areas in Japan. Every aspect of Roku Gin is crafted by Japanese artisans with a centuries-old tradition of meticulous attention to detail.
Not only are Roku Gin’s ingredients of the highest quality, many are also uniquely Japanese and, therefore, best understood by Japanese artisans. Suntory’s mastery of this process is the result of extensive experience gained over decades making gin. Suntory developed its own multiple distillation process as a result of the special features each botanical brings to Roku Gin’s perfectly balanced mix.

Aviation is America’s original craft gin. Created by pioneering bartender, Ryan Magarian and master distiller, Christian Krogstad, in Portland Oregon, it is the culmination of their quest for a more versatile and mixable gin.
Instead of being overpowered by juniper – the flavor of which many perceive to be “harsh” or “medicinal” – Aviation is a balanced blend of seven botanicals: juniper, cardamom, lavender, sarsaparilla, coriander, anise seed, and dried orange peel.
Aviation’s botanicals are infused by maceration – steeping them until the flavors have bonded – then redistilled. Many other gins are infused by vapor distillation– passing heated alcoholic vapors through a basket of botanicals.

Launched in 1987 Bombay Sapphire is credited with kickstarting gin's fashionability and has become a truly iconic brand, with its distinctive blue bottle recognisable in bars the world over. The basis for the its recipe is it's predecessor the Bombay Original but with a few more ingredients totalling 10 different botanicals: almond, lemon peel, licorice, juniper, orris root, angelica root, coriander, cassia cinnamon, cubeb pepper and paradise seeds. Bombay Sapphire Gin is distilled 3 times in a "carterhead" style, where the alcohol vapors pass through a mask / basket containing the 10 ingredients, to get its distinct taste and aroma. This gives a lighter and more 'floral' gin than the gins distilled using the more common copper still. Finally, water is added from Lake Vyrnwy, bringing the alcoholic strength of the Bombay Sapphire Gin to 40%.
